Giravoce Singing Academy
Giravoce Singing Academy was founded by two enthusiastic vocal pedagogues, Claudia Patacca and Amand Hekkers. Both have extensive practical experience as singers and teachers and are connected with various conservatories in the Netherlands and abroad. Amand specialises in coaching tenors, and Claudia in coaching sopranos.
Our goal
Giravoce — voice that goes around — was founded with the goal of coaching (young) singers with a practice-oriented programme. This includes technical skills, career counselling, repertoire study and audition training: finding passion and a clear message in your singing, in range, quality of tone, and the most natural way for the voice to flow; how to perform on concertante and operatic stages; how to build a full interpretation while following your own artistic instincts. Every lesson is focused, and hopefully full of inspiration, guiding you toward becoming a complete singer.
Claudia Patacca is professor of classical singing at ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in the Netherlands. Amand Hekkers is professor of classical singing at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. Together and separately, Claudia and Amand also give masterclasses abroad, at conservatories including the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona, the Conservatorio San Pietro a Majella in Napoli, the Franz Liszt Hochschule für Musik in Weimar, the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in Tallinn, the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music in Riga, the Royal Conservatoire of Copenhagen, the Malmö Academy of Music, and the Prins Claus Conservatorium in Groningen.
